Black & Veatch Gains Top Ranking Among Global Water and Power Consultancies

Survey Also Shows Significant Gains for Black & Veatch’s Business in the UK

Redhill, UK (April 10, 2008) -- Black & Veatch, a leading engineering, consulting and construction company, has topped the global rankings for water and power in the NCE’s Consultants File 2008.

Black & Veatch’s European business also featured strongly in the NCE’s listing of the UK’s top consulting engineers. It was ranked fourth in water, up two places from the previous year, and ninth in construction and project management, an advance of five places. The company also rose three places in the ports, harbours, airports and canals listing.

“Globally, Black & Veatch had a very strong 2007 in providing sustainable solutions to our clients’ most complex challenges,” commented Dan McCarthy, President and CEO of Black & Veatch’s global water business. “That strength is reflected in the NCE’s global rankings for the business’s core markets of water and power. The gains we’ve made in the UK listings show that growth in our consulting services lines has gone hand-in-hand with the major expansion in construction capabilities we began in 2006.

“Black & Veatch now offers the UK water sector an unrivalled in-house concept-to-commissioning capability.”

NCE magazine publishes its Consultants File annually. The rankings are based upon the results of a questionnaire survey of consultancies conducted by the publication in January 2008.
