WATERSIDE DEVELOPMENTS

Black & Veatch is increasingly involved in waterside infrastructure, offering advice, planning and design. Starting with flood risk assessments in line with Planning Policy Guidance (PPG25), we complete surveys and investigations into the appropriateness and siting of infrastructure, as well as actual engineering and landscape design.
In addition, we supervise construction and development of water frontage. From pre-acquisition due diligence to detailed condition surveys and assessments of river walls, we offer advice and guidance to a range of developers, government agencies, councils and harbour authorities.

Specific projects in recent years include work on over 30 urban regeneration sites along the Thames Estuary and Thames Gateway. These include strategic advice on the economic viability of water use and the possibility of expanding water-based transport, contaminated land advice, and drainage area and architectural masterplanning.
